This bar indicates that you are within the PDS enterprise which includes 6 science discipline nodes and 2 support nodes which are overseen by the Project Management Office at NASA's Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC). Each node is led by an expert in the subject discipline, supported by an advisory group of other practitioners of that discipline, and subject to selection and approval under a regular NASA Research Announcement.

JOVIAN SYSTEM DATA ANALYSIS PROGRAM PROPOSAL SUMMARY

ROSS-98   NRA 98-OSS-05 Confirmation #: 99-095
Date Received:  Dec 10, 1998a

Proposal Summary

I have developed and tested high-precision digital image pattern-matching software for the production of high-spatial-resolution wind velocity maps from Galileo feature-track sequences. The proposed effort will provide detailed digital wind velocity maps from seven SSI feature track sequences and for each of the four SSI bandpasses (VLT, NIR, MT1, and MT2) for which coverage was obtained. The digital velocity maps will be made available to the atmospheric sciences community and promise to be important tools for a wide array of Jovian atmosphere dynamical studies. Under guidance from collaborator Don Banfield and with advice from Galileo Team Member, Peter Gierasch, the new data products will be validated and preliminary analyses provided in the context of relevant dynamical processes considered to be operating in Jupiter's atmosphere.
