Date: Fri, 11 Aug 2000 17:28:18 +0100 (BST) From: John Rogers Subject: EZ(S) disturbance (cont.) Recent images of the EZ(S)/SEBn main complex are interesting, especially with Tomio Akutsu's methane-band and I-band images. The same images show oval BA. The images are on: Aug.1 (Akutsu; Damian Peach's drawing on Aug.2 is a nice visual illustration one rotation later). Aug.6 (Akutsu). Aug.8-10 (Akutsu, Miyazaki, and Don Parker ). There has been a large dark blue streak in EZ(S) around L1 ~ 190, very dark in I-band, perhaps breaking up now, along with much other disturbance, as last apparition. However the main complex itself is barely perceptible in visible light, although it is still dramatically shown in methane images at L1 ~ 235 as a huge 'step-up' of SEBn. I wonder if it will burst out again in visible light or if the disturbance is declining. John Rogers. Aug.11
